I am reading Julia Cameron’s, Walking in This World: The Practical Art of Creativity. In the ‘Suggested Reading’ section in the back, she recommends a book called, Becoming a Writer, by Dorthea Brande. Cameron refers to this book as, “The best book on writing I’ve ever found.” On that referral alone I went straight to Google in search of this book. To my great joy, I found a free PDF version of this book that has been out of print for years. It was originally published in 1934.

Now that I’ve got this little book in PDF format, I’m thinking how cool it would be if I could read it on my Kindle app on my iPhone, so I emailed a copy of it to my Kindle email address, put the word, “CONVERT,” in the subject line, and in about ten minutes or so it showed up on my Kindle. This is probably old news to everyone but me, but I figured I’d share the instructions anyway in case someone else wanted to know how to do it.

Here’s a link to the free, PDF version of, Becoming a Writer. I’m adding it to my list of books to read. I know that it will inspire me to keep on writing.
